Infinity Blue is a large-scale, permanent immersive experience at the Eden Project, Cornwall. Standing at nearly 9 metres tall and weighing 20 tonnes, the sculptural components are brought to life by rings of scented fog which fire out from 32 cannons hidden within openings in its tiled surface.
Daily startup, shutdown and fluid management throughout the sculpture are automated, while an hour-long choreographed firing sequence is programmed to loop on a custom made microcontroller. This also times the release of scents into the robotic cannons, allowing layers of distinct aromas to fill the installation.
A.R.T’s technology is hidden within the ceramic structure, providing reliable daily operation and maintenance till the year 2027.
