A.A.Murakami’s immersive installation combines sculpture, motion and sound to create a multisensory experience within a meticulously designed interior setting.
The robotic arms of the piece follow a choreographed sequence, pausing as the flutes they hold play a mesmerising composition. Fabricated from aluminium and driven by a series of motors, their programmed motion replicates the mechanisms of bird’s legs.
Visitors to the installation witness the spectacle of these constructions lifting themselves up and out of a reflective liquid pool, disappearing back beneath the surface when they have projected their tone.
The piece forms part of the curation for Opposites United: Eclipse of Perceptions, an expanded series of exhibitions and events organised by Kia for Milan Design Week.
