An immersive installation comprising 15 hand blown glass tubes, combining digital and analogue technologies into an interactive experience. Within the tubes is krypton gas plasma, which comes alive with light and movement under the influence of human presence and touch.
As well as creating a visually impactful piece, the goal was to ensure it maintained operational consistency and high safety standards, which was achieved through the implementation of specialist power control systems.
A.R.T installed these behind the walls of the space and used high voltage cabling and insulators. The programming components integrated each element of the piece with a small computer that automated the switch on, standard operation and shutdown procedures.
